Service Description: This service provides a broad overview of Queensland's resource assets and
infrastructure. It has been developed to enhance understanding of Queensland’s
abundant natural resource wealth and to encourage exploration and investment.
The service includes the following layers:
Deposits: Locations of significant mineral deposits across Queensland, with
emphasis on critical and strategic minerals. Includes associated commodities
and an indicative measure of resource endowment.
Projects: Current and proposed mineral resource projects compiled to support
the Queensland Critical Minerals Project Pipeline and Prospectus, maintained
by Georesources Intelligence with inter-agency contributions.
Mines (Coal, Petroleum, Mineral): Operating mines reporting production and
commodity information, based on Annual Statistical Returns submitted by
industry.
Ports: Key ports used for exporting mineral resources, highlighting their role
in supply chains, trade, and economic development.
Update Frequency:
Data is updated periodically in line with source dataset updates, including
annual reporting cycles and ongoing project data maintenance.
Constraints / Limitations:
Data is indicative and may not represent real-time operational status.
Some datasets are compiled from publicly available sources and may vary in
accuracy or completeness.
